Satoshi to USD Converter
Convert satoshis to dollars — and dollars to sats — at the live Bitcoin price. 1 BTC = 100,000,000 sats; everything else is just the current price, prefilled below and editable. Plus a live converter for 200+ other coins.
Enter a Bitcoin price (or wait for the live price) to convert between satoshis, BTC and dollars.
Why count in sats at all?
- Whole numbers beat decimals — “35,000 sats” is easier to reason about (and harder to misread) than 0.00035 BTC.
- Stacking sats — the habit of accumulating small amounts of Bitcoin regularly. If that's you, the DCA calculator tracks your average cost across buys.
- Payments — Lightning invoices and on-chain fees are denominated in sats, so converting to dollars quickly is genuinely useful.

Frequently asked questions
What is a satoshi?
A satoshi (or 'sat') is the smallest unit of Bitcoin: 1 BTC = 100,000,000 satoshis. It's named after Bitcoin's pseudonymous creator, Satoshi Nakamoto. Pricing things in sats avoids long decimal strings — 0.00025 BTC reads much more naturally as 25,000 sats.
How many satoshis are in one US dollar?
It changes with the Bitcoin price: sats per dollar = 100,000,000 ÷ BTC price. At a $64,000 Bitcoin, $1 is about 1,563 sats. The converter above does this live, in both directions.
How do I convert satoshis to USD?
Multiply the sats by the Bitcoin price and divide by 100,000,000. Example: 250,000 sats at a $64,000 BTC price → 250,000 × 64,000 ÷ 100,000,000 = $160. Or just type the number above and let the live price do the work.
When will 1 satoshi equal 1 dollar?
One sat reaching $1 implies a Bitcoin price of $100 million per coin — roughly a $2 quadrillion market cap, far beyond all the world's money combined today. It's a fun benchmark, not a forecast. Whether BTC goes up or down this week, though, is a call you can actually make — and have scored.
Does this converter work for coins other than Bitcoin?
Yes — the second converter on this page handles 200+ coins with live prices, converting any amount to and from US dollars. Satoshis are Bitcoin-specific, but the coin converter covers everything else.
