What is Sky (SKY)?

Sky (SKY) is the governance token of Sky Protocol, an Ethereum-based decentralized finance system that issues the USDS stablecoin. The protocol originally launched as MakerDAO in 2015 with the MKR governance token and rebranded to Sky in 2024 as part of its "Endgame" restructuring plan. MKR holders can upgrade their tokens to SKY at a fixed rate of 1 MKR to 24,000 SKY, and SKY is used to vote on protocol parameters and governance decisions.
